Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a new mental health clinical educator post hosted by the Medicines Management Team and based jointly with the University of Liverpool's School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences two days a week.

You will contribute to delivering an advanced clinical pharmacy service in inpatient mental health settings and lead the development, delivery and evaluation of mental health teaching for undergraduates, ensuring parity with physical health.

Qualifications

Essential: Vocational Masters degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent).
Essential: Registered with The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Essential: Registered independent prescriber with GPhC.
Essential: Post-graduate diploma in mental health or clinical pharmacy (or documented equivalent).
Essential: Advanced credentialled in (core advanced &) specialist mental health curriculum, or willingness to work towards.
Desirable: Member of the Royal College of Pharmacy.
Desirable: Member (Associate) of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy (CMHP).
Desirable: PGCE or higher education qualification.

Responsibilities

Design, development, delivery and assessment of mental health teaching within the MPharm programme.
Lead mental health-focused experiential learning across the MPharm programme (simulation, health placements, EPAs).
Provide advanced clinical pharmacy service to inpatient mental health wards.
Act as an active non-medical prescriber.
Provide leadership and be a role model.
Contribute to the Education & Training Team and Medicines Optimisation Strategy.
Cover ward work at base and other Trust sites as needed.
