Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician for the Women’s Health Medicines Management team at Luton and Dunstable Hospital. You will deliver patient-centred medicines management, work with a multidisciplinary team and support discharge planning.

This role offers opportunities to develop specialist skills in Women’s Health, contribute to training, audits and service improvement, and progress within a supportive Trust.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills / Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent.
• Registration with the GPhC.
• Clinical pharmacy qualification or accreditation.
• Member of APTUK.

Responsibilities

• Provide medicines management service at ward level, including safe storage and medicine returns.
• Obtain patient medication histories using all sources and enter onto ePMA.
• Undertake Level 2 medicines reconciliation in line with SOPs.
• Counsel patients and carers on medicines use and device technique as required.
• Support with dispensing and issuing prescriptions and accredited checking.
• Supervise junior pharmacy technicians and contribute to training.
