Job summary

East London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join the Luton and Bedford Inpatient Pharmacy team. The post holder will lead on clinical and dispensing activities, motivate the team to meet deadlines and participate in line management of junior staff.

You will use pharmacy computer systems to coordinate and maintain the supply of medicines. You will undertake dispensary, stores and procurement activities, and work across multiple sites within the directorate,

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• BTEC / NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
• ACPT trained and have completed accredited checking technician training (ACPT).

Responsibilities

• Assist with high quality clinical pharmacy service to patients and collaborate with multidisciplinary team.
• Undertake general dispensary, stores and procurement activities as required.
• Take a lead in day-to-day running of the team/department.
• Line manage, train and support junior staff.
• Work across multiple environments including mental health in-patient wards, PICU, Home Treatment Teams and satellite dispensary.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed Pharmacy Technician to join the Luton and Bedford Inpatient pharmacy team. The post holder will lead on a full range of clinical & dispensing activities, using their enthusiasm to motivate the team to meet department deadlines, as well as participating in the line management of junior staff. You will use pharmacy computer systems to co-ordinate and maintain the supply of medicines.,

• To assist with the provision of a high quality clinical pharmacy service to patients of the Trust and work closely with all pharmacy staff and maintain a close working relationship with other members of the multidisciplinary team
• To undertake general dispensary, stores and procurement activities as required
• To take a lead in the day-to-day running of the team/department
• To maintain the ACPT qualification
• To line manage, train and support junior staff
• To work in a number of different environments including mental health in-patient wards, PICU, Home Treatment Teams and the Luton Satellite pharmacy dispensary.

All applicants must have completed a BTEC / NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent and be registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will possess an accreditation in medicines management training (AIMMS/MOPs) and have completed accredited checking technician training (ACPT), The Inpatient pharmacy team works across multiple sites within the luton and bedford directorate .
