As a Senior Media Manager, you will support the Media Account Director and Associate Director on various media accounts. You will be part of a structured, creative media team delivering strategies that help our clients grow. Building and maintaining exceptional client relationships, understanding their business challenges, and developing media plans that generate growth are key aspects of this role.

You will also identify opportunities for business growth, recommend innovative media solutions, and contribute to your team’s learning and development. Leading, motivating, and appraising your team will be essential.

Your Key Responsibilities
Champion Media
  • Partner with Business Leadership to evaluate work based on strategic direction and client needs.
  • Support your team in understanding the media process and taking ownership of projects.
  • Measure campaign performance for clients.
Problem Solving
  • Work with your media team to identify client business and marketing issues, providing data to develop tailored solutions.
  • Understand and apply the UM ‘Futureproof’ planning process to address client challenges.
Business Relationship Management
  • Monitor changes in clients’ businesses and sectors, advising on media strategies accordingly.
  • Build strong relationships with clients at comparable levels and discuss market trends proactively.
Strategic Thinking
  • Lead the team through the ‘Futureproof’ strategic planning process, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Creative Thinking
  • Develop expertise in media types, strengths, and buying models to inform strategy.
Influence and Negotiation
  • Conduct mid-level negotiations and support higher-budget negotiations with the Media Associate Director.
Media Tools
  • Confidently use tools like Growth Accelerator, AdIntel, TGI, Adwanted, DDS, Prisma, SAP, Mintel, Warc, Statista, Euromonitor, Foresight Factory, Google Trends, etc., and teach team members to do the same.
Client Solutions
  • Assist in developing media strategies across all phases, managing client budgets, and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Write effective media owner briefs, incorporating strategic insights for idea generation.
Cross-Group Integration
  • Coordinate integrated campaigns and identify process improvement opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in client-facing roles and presenting to clients.
  • Deep understanding of media channels and their integration for client solutions.
  • Ability to identify growth opportunities within clients.
  • Experience managing client budgets and understanding financial impacts.
