Job summary

Matchtech is recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer (Contract) based on-site in Cowes, Isle of Wight, to lead the full systems engineering lifecycle for phased array radar projects. The role requires SC clearance or the ability to obtain it and involves heavy collaboration across engineering stakeholders.

The successful candidate will apply systems engineering principles from requirements to verification, validation and customer acceptance, delivering robust sub-system solutions

Qualifications

• Significant systems engineering experience in defence or regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of ISO 15288 lifecycle governance.
• Experience with requirements management and configuration management (DOORS Next preferred).
• MBSE/model-based approaches and architectural modelling (Cameo or Enterprise Architect).
• Proven experience across integration, verification, validation and acceptance evidence.

Responsibilities

• Lead system and sub-system design activities across the full development lifecycle.
• Decompose and manage requirements using DOORS Next.
• Perform architectural modelling and interface definition using Cameo/Magic or EA.
• Plan and support system integration, test planning/execution, and V&V strategies.
• Contribute to/lead technical reviews and support Design/Technical Authority activities.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to engineers within the project team.
