Morson Edge is seeking a Principal Electrical Systems Engineer to support the development of complex phased‑array radar systems at the client’s site in Cowes, Isle of Wight. This is a 6‑month, full-time, site‑based contract offering high‑integrity engineering leadership on defence systems.

You will lead electrical/system design across the lifecycle, drive requirements decomposition, system integration and verification, and mentor multidisciplinary teams.

Formación

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Significant experience in complex systems engineering and electrical design
• Proven experience delivering large-scale engineering systems in defence or high-integrity environments
• Strong knowledge of requirements management and configuration management
• Familiarity with ISO 15288 and DEF STAN 59-411 EMC qualification
• Extensive experience in design verification, system integration, fault resolution and technical acceptance
• Understanding of electrical safety, high-voltage and high-power equipment

Responsabilidades

• Apply Systems Engineering principles per ISO 15288 across the lifecycle
• Manage requirements, interfaces and configuration using IBM DOORS Next and CATIA Magic/Cameo

• Develop electrical power distribution systems (AC/DC, protection, control, motor drives)
• Support EMC design, data communications, networking and bespoke hardware specification
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams

We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Systems Engineer to support the development and delivery of complex phased-array Radar systems at our clients' site in Cowes, Isle of Wight.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior engineering professional to apply their expertise across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition and system architecture through to integration, verification, customer acceptance and in-service support.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of electrical and systems engineering solutions for complex Radar systems and associated subsystems.

• Undertake system design analysis, requirements decomposition and architectural development.

• Apply Systems Engineering principles in accordance with ISO 15288, supporting the complete product lifecycle.

• Manage requirements, interfaces and configuration using tools such as IBM DOORS Next and CATIA Magic/Cameo.

• Lead system integration, verification, validation and test activities, ensuring compliance with technical and customer requirements.

• Develop electrical power distribution systems, including AC/DC supplies, protection, control, motor drives and positioning systems.

• Support EMC design and qualification, data communications, networking and bespoke hardware specification.

• Provide technical leadership, design reviews and guidance to multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

• Significant experience in complex systems engineering and electrical design.

• Proven experience delivering large-scale engineering systems within defence or other high-integrity environments.

• Strong knowledge of requirements management, configuration management and engineering lifecycle processes.

• Familiarity with ISO 15288, European electrical safety standards and EMC qualification to DEF STAN 59-411.

• Extensive experience in design verification, system integration, fault resolution and technical acceptance.

• A thorough understanding of electrical safety, particularly high-voltage and high-power equipment.

This role requires an accomplished engineer with strong technical leadership skills and the ability to deliver innovative solutions to challenging engineering problems.
