Job summary

Equans are recruiting for a Mechanical Supervisor to be based in Long Bennington to supervise works on heating systems, including Air Source Heat Pumps across the region within social housing. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week.

The role involves supervising mechanical installation, coordinating with site teams, ensuring safety and quality, and supporting commissioning and handover. A relevant NVQ and demonstrable supervisory experience in heating systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience supervising mechanical installation works within construction or building services environments.
• Strong working knowledge of heating systems.
• Good understanding of HSEQ principles and ability to implement safe systems of work.
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all mechanical installation works on site, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and health and safety requirements.
• Plan and allocate work to mechanical operatives and subcontractors, monitoring progress and resolving issues that may impact project delivery.
• Carry out quality inspections, ensuring mechanical systems meet project standards and client expectations.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, and other discipline supervisors to coordinate multi-trade activities.
• Support commissioning processes and ensure accurate documentation, including test sheets and handover records.
• Identify and report any design or technical issues to engineering teams for resolution.
• Ensure all works are undertaken in line with method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to apprentices and junior team members.
• Promote a positive safety culture on site, ensuring compliance with company HSEQ procedures.
