Job summary

Amentum is hiring a Mechanical Responsible Engineer (RE) to lead mechanical and vent engineering within a nuclear/high-hazard environment. The role covers lifecycle governance, technical direction and accountability across multiple projects.

The RE ensures safety, compliance, and quality in outputs while working with Project Managers, safety case owners, and regulators. Based in Warrington, Westlakes, or Stockton-on-Tees with site access requirements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering and governing mechanical engineering in regulated, safety-critical environments.
• Experience holding technical accountability for engineering scope and decisions.
• Ability to ensure compliance with legislation, standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and governance to the engineering team across lifecycle stages.
• Ensure engineering outputs are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
• Collaborate with project managers, safety case owners and regulators to support safety and compliance.
