Job summary

Amentum in Warrington is seeking a Mechanical Responsible Engineer (RE) with accountability for mechanical and vent engineering within a nuclear or high-hazard environment. You will work under R2A2 governance, directing a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, compliant outcomes across lifecycle.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status, significant experience in safety-critical projects, and the ability to engage regulators and assurance functions.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering mechanical engineering in regulated, safety-critical environments.
• Technical accountability for engineering scope and decisions.
• Experience ensuring compliance with legislation, standards and safety requirements.
• Ability to govern engineering activities and assurance arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and governance to the engineering team throughout lifecycle.
• Ensure standards, assurance and safety are applied across projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, safety case owners, and operations.
• Support multiple tasks and projects across lifecycle stages.
