Job summary

March is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to join our delivery team on Barrow-in-Furness projects. You will coordinate procurement and delivery of mechanical packages, liaising with clients, contractors and suppliers to ensure successful delivery.

The role is full time and mostly site-based, with some off-site meetings when required. Responsibilities cover planning, RAMS, QA, supplier management, RFIs and collaboration with QA, HSE and planning teams to achieve contract

Qualifications

  • HNC level in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience using MS Office software.
  • Must hold SMSTS and CSCS cards.
  • Nuclear or highly regulated environment experience desirable but not essential.
  • Commutable to Barrow In Furness.

Responsibilities

  • Sub-Project management planning including labour, materials, cost control and subcontract resource management.
  • Produce RAMS and other QHSE documentation.
  • Manage subcontractor ITPs/ICLs with QA requirements.
  • Identify, select and manage suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Produce RFIs and ensure correct equipment procurement.
  • Attend site meetings and workshops; implement compensation events and raise early warnings.

Senior Mechanical Project Manager

Barrow in Furness

We are now looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to join March as part of the delivery team a BAE Barrow and other projects as they mature.

As the Mechanical Project Manager, you will have a responsibility to assist the principal project manager and senior engineer in the procurement and delivery of the Mechanical Packages, coordinating with the client, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. The position will be full time and mostly site based as part of the March delivery team with some off-site meetings when required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sub-Project management planning and engineering; labour, materials, cost control and sub-contract resource management
  • Produce risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) and other QHSE documentation
  • Managing the production of the sub-contractors ITP’s and ICL’s in conjunction with the QA Managers requirements
  • Identifying, assessing, negotiating with and managing suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Managing the production of RFI’s ensuring the correct selection and procurement of equipment
  • Attending site team meetings and workshops as required, implementing Compensation Events and producing early warnings
Managing a mechanical site team as identified below:
  • Mechanical Engineer
  • Mechanical Supervisors/Construction manager
  • Supply chain Site Supervisors and site team
Working closely with:
  • The Quality Manager and team to ensure the resolving and closing out of Snags and Defects
  • The Quantity Surveyor, Document Controller, Principal Contractor and other trades
  • Communicating and co-ordinating with the Health and Safety manager and the ADT Design team.
  • The project Planner to ensure accurate planning, forecasting and reporting contract performance
Skills, Experiences & Qualifications:
  • Educated to HNC Level (or equivalent) in a Mechanical/ Building Services Engineering discipline – consideration will be given for those with equivalent industry experience.
  • Have experience in using MS office software.
  • You will also need to hold both a SMSTS and CSCS card.
  • Experience working within a nuclear or highly regulated environment P4 pass & SC clearance (desirable) but Not Essential.
  • Commutable to Barrow In Furness
