Job summary

MARCH is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead key site activities across clean water and wastewater projects. You will ensure safety, CDM compliance and high-quality delivery while collaborating with Project Engineers and Project Managers to drive safe and efficient execution.

You will monitor risk, manage subcontractors, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver on time and within budget. A strong focus on continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement will be essential for

Qualifications

  • An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng. or NVQ equivalent.
  • H&S qualifications including relevant training.
  • SMSTS or CITB Site Safety Management.
  • CSCS card holder.
  • First Aid at Work; Confined Space training advantageous.
  • Experience in water and/or sewage industries.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with NEC forms of contract.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all site activities, ensuring safe, efficient, on-time delivery within budget.
  • Monitor and enforce Health & Safety, CDM, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage site documentation, programmes, subcontractors and project finances.
  • Attend and contribute to progress, review, and coordination meetings.
  • Review and validate drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Appropriate RAMS approval and Process Risk Assessments where applicable.
  • Drive progress per construction programme and resolve issues promptly.
  • Build relationships with clients, teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate site installations and construction activities for efficient delivery.
  • Supervise high-risk activities including confined space entries and permit-to-work.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing safety briefings.
  • Ensure snagging items and safety inspections are addressed promptly.
  • Promote continuous improvement and best practices across site activities.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Site Manager to join our growing team at MARCH. Working across clean water and wastewater projects, you will be responsible for managing site activities, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and CDM regulations, and supporting the successful delivery of projects. You will work closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers to drive safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with all Health & Safety, CDM, and Environmental legislation.
  • Manage site documentation, programmes, subcontractors, and project finances.
  • Attend and contribute to internal and external progress, review, and coordination meetings.
  • Review and validate construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Review and approve in-house and subcontractor RAMS and, where applicable, Process Risk Assessments.
  • Drive progress in accordance with the construction programme and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, operational teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate site installations and construction activities to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Supervise and manage high‑risk activities, including confined space entries and permit‑to‑work systems.
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety briefings.
  • Ensure snagging items, defects, and pre‑use safety inspection actions are promptly addressed and closed out.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, best practice, and operational excellence across all site activities.
Skills, Experiences & Qualifications
  • An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng. or NVQ equivalent
  • H&S qualifications
  • IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS)
  • CSCS card
  • First Aid at WorkConfined Space training would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or sewage industries
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Familiarity with NEC forms of contracts is preferable
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and capable of managing competing priorities.
