Job summary

ARC in Leicester is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead complex mechanical engineering projects from concept to handover. You will manage cross‑functional teams, budgets and schedules, ensuring safety, quality and on‑time delivery.

The ideal candidate has extensive mechanical PM experience, strong commercial acumen and the ability to drive tendering, procurement and continuous improvement across project delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive PM experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, industrial engineering or related sector.
• Recognised mechanical qualification.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and lifecycle.
• Excellent commercial, contractual and financial management skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Proactive, structured and commercially focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Managing mechanical engineering projects from design through installation and handover.
• Developing detailed project programmes, budgets and delivery plans.
• Leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating internal departments, contractors and suppliers.
• Managing risks, issues, change control and commercial performance.
• Coordinating procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning activities.
• Ensuring health & safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Monitoring progress and reporting to senior management.
• Supporting business development, tendering and estimating when required.
• Driving continuous improvement in delivery processes.
