Job summary

The Labour Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager for an 18-month contract starting January 2027 in the Slough area. The role focuses on delivering mechanical building services across commercial, aviation and data centre sectors, coordinating between clients, design teams and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Mechanical Project Manager within an M&E contractor.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installations.
• Experience managing substantial mechanical packages and specialist subcontractors.
• Aviation or data centre project experience would be advantageous.
• SMSTS or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of mechanical packages across commercial, aviation and data centre projects.
• Lead Mechanical Site Managers, Supervisors and specialist subcontractors.
• Oversee HVAC, pipework, ventilation, chilled water systems, plant rooms and associated mechanical services.
• Manage project programmes, milestones and short-term lookaheads.
• Coordinate mechanical design development, drawings and technical information.
• Manage technical submissions, RFIs and design queries.
• Oversee procurement of mechanical plant, equipment, materials and long-lead items.
• Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, public health and other project packages.
• Monitor project progress, quality and commercial performance.
• Attend client, consultant, design team and subcontractor meetings.
• Manage variations, change control and commercial matters alongside the QS team.
• Ensure mechanical installations comply with specifications, relevant standards and project requirements.
• Oversee QA documentation, inspections and quality control.
• Manage pressure testing, flushing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with Health & Safety requirements.
