Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Peterborough is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician. This role involves responding to equipment breakdowns, maintaining and installing facility equipment, and mentoring apprentices. Candidates should have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience, and be able to read mechanical drawings. This position offers flexible working hours with a 9-day fortnight schedule.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including apprenticeship.
• Experience in facility test cells, engine testing, or plant maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out effective fault-finding and repair.
• Maintain, repair, and install facility equipment and support systems.
• Run improvement projects and root cause investigations.

Skills

Maintenance processes knowledge

Fault finding/diagnostics on hydraulic systems

Laser alignment of rotating equipment

Ability to read mechanical drawings

Education

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Completed apprenticeship
