Job summary

Express Recruitment is partnering with a UK sporting business to recruit a Mechanical Engineer. The role centers on on-site installations, servicing bespoke machinery, and overseeing small engineering teams across the UK and overseas.

Ideal candidates hold an HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, a clean UK driving license, and a valid UK passport, with around 60% travel. Salary is circa £40,000 per year with overtime and solid benefits.

Qualifications

• HNC or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Must be flexible with around 60% UK and overseas travel.
• Experienced in the assembly and testing of electromechanical systems.
• Demonstrable attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent team player with leading and mentoring small teams of Engineers.
• Must hold a clean UK driving license.
• Must hold a valid UK passport.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular on-site installations and servicing of bespoke machinery and equipment.
• Resolve technical issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Schedule site installs, supporting logistics planning and procurement of materials.
• Oversee and assist with assembly of mechanical products and cabling equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering diagrams and cable/wiring layouts.
• Act as escalation point for customer queries and complaints.
• Ensure installations meet SLA timescales.
• Travel to customer sites across the UK and overseas and advise on correct usage of products.
