Job summary

Automation Experts in Bedfordshire is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a five-person engineering team while maintaining hands-on design and development of complex mechanical solutions for demanding industrial applications.

You will drive technical innovation, improve product performance and reliability, and manage design reviews, calculations and engineering analyses to deliver commercially viable solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with rotating machinery and hydraulic systems.
• Experience leading an engineering team.
• Hands-on design, analysis and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of five engineers with technical direction.
• Hands-on mechanical design and investigations.
• Provide leadership across rotating equipment and fluid systems.
• Oversee design standards and R&D projects.
• Drive cost reduction, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Apply root-cause analysis and 8D methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and ATEX.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
