Job summary

Arup is seeking a senior mechanical engineer for our northern UK offices to deliver water utility projects. You will bring technical excellence in water/wastewater treatment, pumping systems and pipework, while mentoring less experienced colleagues and contributing to bid activities.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design robust solutions across the AMP8 program for United Utilities, Severn Trent Water and others, delivering high-quality outcomes for clients and communities.

Qualifications

• Track record of mechanical engineering feasibility and design in water utilities, including water or wastewater treatment and transmission systems.
• Knowledge of design tools such as BIM and Plant 3D.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with IMechE or progress toward chartership.
• Masters level engineering degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects across the water industry for utilities and industrial water systems.
• Support AMP8 delivery pipelines for United Utilities and Severn Trent Water.
• Provide key mechanical input to projects and mentor junior staff.
• Lead work-winning activities and build networks within the industry.
