Job summary

Manpower UK is seeking a senior mechanical design engineer to lead multidisciplinary projects from feasibility to commissioning. You will engage with clients, coordinate design teams and deliver high-quality, low-carbon building services solutions in live environments.

The role supports flexible and remote working options within the UK, with a competitive salary and benefits package including pension and health cover.

Qualifications

• Extensive building services design experience.
• Advanced working knowledge of IES, Revit and AutoCAD.
• A strong grounding in sustainability and low-carbon design.
• Confidence working client-facing and engaging effectively with a range of stakeholders.
• Experience approaching Chartership level, and/or experience with IESVE and Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience spanning both consultancy design and on-site surveying or site management.
• Approach electrical design experience (as part of the wider building services context).
• Ability to support work within environments requiring UK SC level clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design on multidisciplinary projects from feasibility through to commissioning and handover.
• Deliver to programme, quality and budget expectations.
• Prepare and review calculations, specifications and reports.
• Support feasibility studies and option appraisals.
• Manage client relationships and lead technical discussions.
• Coordinate design teams and external stakeholders (often within live or mission-critical environments).
• Supervise and mentor engineers and technicians.
• Review construction progress and commissioning activities.
• Contribute to fee proposals and bid submissions.
• Support project financial performance and resource planning.
