IonQ, Inc. in Oxford is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer on the Reliability Engineering team to keep our quantum computers running at peak uptime and to reduce operating costs.

You'll work closely with electrical, optical and science colleagues on mechanical designs and configuration management so improvements land in live systems. You will root-cause faults across mechanical, vacuum, cryogenic and thermal subsystems, prototype solutions, and write assembly instructions to roll out upgrades.

Formación

• 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proactive, self-directed, comfortable with uptime-critical systems.

Responsabilidades

• Root-cause mechanical, vacuum, cryogenic and thermal faults on live systems.
• Design, prototype and test solutions for recurring challenges.
• Write assembly and upgrade instructions for new designs and bring into live fleets.
• Update PLM, build records and ECRs for future builds.
