Job summary

ibse, a leading Building Services consultancy in the UK, is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design and delivery of mechanical building services across sectors. You will mentor junior engineers, manage projects through RIBA stages, coordinate with clients and design teams, and ensure compliance with regulations while delivering sustainable, energy-efficient solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
• Significant experience in Building Services Consultancy
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services design
• Experience delivering projects across commercial, residential, hospitality, retail or mixed-use sectors
• Proficient in Revit and industry-standard calculation packages
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership (advantage)

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of building services projects across multiple sectors
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation
• Manage projects through all RIBA stages
• Attend client, design team and site meetings
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians
• Ensure compliance with current legislation, regulations and industry best practice
• Contribute to sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions
