You will join our Building Services department

As our new Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a highly dynamic team. Our Building Services team in Leeds has an in-depth focus on technical delivery and an excellent understanding of client care. We offer a supporting and collaborative culture and environment, in which you can develop and grow in your role. For the right candidate there is the opportunity to progress rapidly, with increasing client facing duties and mentoring of junior engineers and apprentices. Finally, we enjoy what we do! Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Manage your own project work as part of a project team
  • Deliver high quality, innovative and sustainable design solutions to the required standards and supervise the work of others in this function
  • Manage time on projects to suit deadlines and complete your assigned tasks as stipulated by the Ramboll project manager
  • Represent Ramboll at external client meetings
  • The key deliverables over the first 12-24 months for this role will be:
  • Maintain excellent levels of client service and project delivery
  • Help to develop and promote Ramboll’s multi-discipline capability in the local market
  • Ensure Ramboll Q.A procedures are implemented
  • Make a meaningful contribution to our technical excellence’ strategy
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the team

  • To be a qualified Engineer having a proven and demonstrable track record in your discipline
  • To have a CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree, or an HNC in an applicable discipline with commitment to continue with higher education
  • To have achieved or working towards IEng or CEng status
  • To have an understanding of financial arrangements for projects including fee forecasting, fee preparation, and allocation
  • Be accustomed to providing guidance to graduates and technicians, demonstrating your in-depth understanding of design engineering
  • Have a proven ability to deliver a number of projects at any one time
  • Be forward thinking and passionate about digital design innovation and ‘smart design’ in an increasingly digitalized construction arena
  • Demonstrate compliance in tools such as Revit, MagiCad and IES
  • Ideally you will have experience across different sectors such as Building Services Design, Site surveys & inspections, Snagging, Client & design team meetings

  • You have a good technical knowledge and understanding of building services systems and an excellent knowledge of mechanical building services systems
  • You are an excellent communicator and possess the ability to make what is complicated simple!
  • You demonstrate good attention to detail and show pride in the work you produce
  • You are able to motivate and inspire confidence both in your peers and clients
  • You are able to work using your own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of your discipline
  • Be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the role buildings services systems can play in delivering high performing low carbon buildings for our clients
