Job summary

Rullion Ltd. is recruiting a permanent Mechanical Engineer for hybrid work in Warrington or Abingdon. The role focuses on delivering and managing technical mechanical studies across a range of complex projects, supporting the lifecycle from FEED through commissioning.

The candidate should hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least five years' experience in regulated industries, and demonstrate strong communication skills and collaboration across disciplines. SC clearance is desirable.

Role information

Deliver and manage technical mechanical engineering studies across a range of complex engineering projects.

Support projects through all phases of the engineering lifecycle, from FEED and concept design through to detailed design, construction and commissioning.

Produce and review technical documentation including technical notes, substantiation reports, mechanical flow diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, layout drawings and engineering specifications.

Design and develop mechanical systems and processes for highly regulated environments.

Undertake mechanical engineering studies covering areas such as mechanical handling systems, heavy mechanical transfer systems, powder handling technologies and specialist process equipment.

Review supplier technical documentation and ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.

Support hazard identification, risk assessments and engineering assurance activities.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Provide engineering support during commissioning, operations, maintenance and decommissioning activities where required.

Qualifications/Experience Required

• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience delivering engineering design across concept, FEED, detailed design and commissioning phases.
• Knowledge of engineering documentation including technical specifications, design reviews and supplier documentation.
• Experience working within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, aerospace, rail, oil & gas, chemicals or pharmaceuticals.
• Understanding of mechanical handling systems, process equipment or complex mechanical systems would be advantageous.
• Experience considering the full asset lifecycle, including manufacture, testing, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and decommissioning.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project (url removed) National Security Vetting Status - Ability to gain SC Clearance
