Job description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will oversee engineering activities for a specific construction project, coordinating technical design with onsite installation through to commissioning while ensuring adherence to company standards and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Collate design documents and drawings.
• Attend project handover meetings.
• Identify value engineering opportunities.
• Prepare coordinated installation drawings.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications and technical submittals.
• Assist with progress reporting and technical assessments.
• Process requisitions and purchase orders.
• Verify receipt of equipment and materials.
• Manage RFIs with the design team.
• Understand project financials, including profit plans and variations.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and internal teams.
• Maintain document control and information management.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
• Oversee subcontractors and quality control inspections.
• Track and manage test packs.

Requirements

• Degree in Building Services/Mechanical Engineering or relevant trades qualification.
• 5+ years’ experience in mechanical contracting.
• Proven track record in commercial, industrial, pharma, or data centre projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and compliance review capabilities.
• Experience in technical submittals and assessments.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
• Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong project planning, problem-solving, and quality management focus.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
