Job summary

Kier Group plc. is delivering key mechanical engineering work on the Thames Water Mogden project. The Senior Mechanical Package Engineer will lead mechanical aspects within budget and timescales, ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental compliance across the site.

You will work closely with our supply chain partners to achieve integrated, clash-free designs. The role includes mentoring graduate engineers, coordinating with design partners, and supporting procurement, with a strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• Experience in Waste Water Engineering projects and knowledge of process equipment design.
• Familiarity with CDM regulations and design reviews.
• Proven ability to lead on-site mechanical packages and coordinate with design partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering from inception to completion on the Mogden project.
• Collaborate with Tier 2 Supply Chain design teams to ensure integrated, clash-free designs.
• Manage procurement of plant, materials and subcontractors with the commercial team.
• Chair and participate in HAZOPs while maintaining risk registers and contract documentation.
• Mentor and develop graduate mechanical engineers on the team.

Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Join us on a major project for Thames Water at Mogden, where you'll play a key role in delivering mechanical engineering solutions across the project. You'll be working in partnership with our supply chain to achieve outstanding results for our client. What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Mechanical Package Engineer, you'll be working within the Mogden team, supporting them in delivering mechanical aspects of projects within budget and timescales whilst ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.

Your day to day will include:

• Leading mechanical engineering from inception to completion, liaising with Tier 2 Supply Chain design teams to ensure fully integrated, clash-free designs
• Collaborating with design partners to ensure CDM compliance and constructability, including check, review and approval of outputs
• Managing procurement of plant, materials and specialist subcontractors in cooperation with the commercial team
• Chairing and attending HAZOP events, maintaining design risk registers and compiling final contract documentation
• Mentoring and supporting graduate mechanical engineers, helping them develop their skills and careers

This role of Senior Mechanical Package Engineer is great for you if:

• You have a strong working knowledge of Waste Water Engineering, including key suppliers, capabilities and process equipment designs
• You’re familiar with access metalwork standards, safe operating principles including EN1090, and can check and review working calculations
• You have demonstrable experience of delivering large Waste Water Schemes
• You can effectively lead and manage teams on site, building collaborative relationships across teams, clients and stakeholders
• You hold a Full driving licence
