Job summary

ibse is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in the United Kingdom to lead building services design projects from concept to completion. You will work with clients, architects and engineers to drive technical delivery and client relationships.

You will manage multiple sectors, lead in design meetings, and help deliver low-carbon, innovative engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio, with strong career progression and hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• 4+ years’ experience in a Building Services consultancy.
• Experience designing mechanical systems across building sectors.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
• Experience using Revit and associated mechanical design packages.
• Understanding of sustainable building design and low-carbon solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaborative approach.
• Chartered Engineer status through CIBSE or IMechE desirable.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join one of the UK's leading independent Building Services consultancies.

Role:

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll take ownership of mechanical building services design projects from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, architects and fellow engineers.

You’ll enjoy a varied workload across multiple sectors while taking an active role in client relationships, technical delivery and project leadership.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the mechanical design of building services projects.
• Managing project delivery from feasibility through construction.
• Acting as Project Lead on selected commissions.
• Producing and reviewing mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Attending design meetings and presenting directly to clients.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements:

We’re looking for an ambitious Mechanical Building Services Engineer who enjoys technical design, client interaction and taking ownership of projects.

Ideally you’ll have:

• Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Around 4+ years’ experience within a Building Services consultancy.
• Experience designing mechanical systems across a range of building sectors.
• Working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
• Experience using industry-standard design software including Revit and associated mechanical design packages.
• An understanding of sustainable building design, renewable technologies and low-carbon solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Working towards, or already holding, Chartered Engineer status through CIBSE or IMechE.
