Would you like to solve some of the most interesting design challenges in the Nuclear industry today? Due to continued investment, this global business is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join their existing team in Warrington, Manchester (hybrid working, 3 days a week onsite) on a 12 month contract.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will provide support and technical guidance for a team of multi-disciplined designers. The role will ensure the quality of output to the required standards across the entire lifecycle, from concept to in-service support.

Responsibilities

• Allocate discipline tasks to a team of designers, check team drawing outputs, and ensure inter-discipline coordination in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
• Promote effective cooperation across Design and other functional teams.
• Assist in effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers, to aid business development, resolve technical and delivery issues, and keep the customer fully briefed and informed of progress.

You will also advise on and assist in selecting the appropriate methods and tools for tasks, provide technical support to designers, and contribute to the preparation and production of drawings in line with ISO standards, meeting time, cost, and quality requirements.

Skills

To succeed as a Senior Mechanical Designer, you should have experience in a similar role and possess the following skills:

• HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in a detailed design environment.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice.
• Demonstrated or working towards ICF (Integrated Competency Framework).

Due to the security nature of this role, only candidates who have lived in the UK in the last 5 years and are eligible for BPSS/SC security clearance will be considered.
