The role

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you’ll play a vital role by providing a point of contact with professional engineering colleagues and stakeholders for discipline-related issues during the design lifecycle. You will contribute to design reviews and ensure coordination and functionality of the design.

Day-to-day, you’ll allocate discipline tasks to your team of Designers, review team drawing outputs, and ensure inter-discipline coordination in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

• Promote effective cooperation across Design and other functional teams.
• Assist in managing customer relationships, including liaison and development with existing and new customers, to support business growth, resolve technical and delivery issues, and keep customers informed of progress.
• Advise on and assist in selecting appropriate methods and tools for tasks, providing technical support to your team of Designers.
• Contribute to the preparation and production of drawings supporting basic, detailed, and production design in line with ISO standards, meeting time, cost, and quality requirements.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based in Warrington, Cheshire, with hybrid working arrangements (3 days in the office, 2 days remote).

Essential experience

• Experience in a detailed design environment.
• Proficiency with CAD tools.
• Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice.
• Incorporated Engineer status.
• Experience in technical leadership of a multi-disciplinary design team.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent academic qualification in a relevant discipline.
