Job summary

ALTEN LTD - UK is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead delivery of complex mechanical design activities in a highly innovative environment. You will provide technical direction, support project delivery, and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on with design and development activities.

Location: Glasgow or Reading. On-site Requirement: On Site. Seniority: 10+ Years Experience. Security Clearance: Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain SC clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience leading mechanical projects.
• Experience in regulated engineering sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design across full lifecycle.
• Oversee design reviews and governance.
• Produce and review complex 3D CAD models and assemblies.
• Support calculations and design justification.
• Coordinate with electronics, systems and manufacturing.
• Mentor junior engineers.
