Job summary

ALTEN LTD - UK in Glasgow is looking for a mid-senior Project Engineering Delivery Lead to guide complex defence engineering work packages from concept to delivery. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across Systems, Software, HW, Electronics, and Project Engineering, ensuring milestones, cost, schedule and quality targets are met.

Candidates should have 7+ years in engineering leadership within Defence or regulated sectors, be able to obtain SC clearance, and thrive in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Engineering project, delivery, or work package management experience in a complex technical environment.
• Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
• Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams and engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of risk and opportunity management, delivery governance, and performance reporting.
• Ability to coordinate activities across the full engineering lifecycle and drive delivery to milestones.
• Experience in Defence, Aerospace, Naval, Security, or other regulated sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of engineering work packages, ensuring activities meet cost, schedule, and quality targets.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders, manage dependencies and risks, provide performance updates.
• Monitor project schedules, resources, budgets, and delivery performance with project controls and leadership teams.
• Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities across the project lifecycle with strong governance.
• Support bids, change, and growth activities including estimating, planning, and stakeholder engagement.
