Job summary

Chroma Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in the United Kingdom. You will lead mechanical design for complex machinery from concept to detailed design, ensuring compliance with the Machinery Directive.

The role involves 3D CAD, project specifications, timelines, and risk assessments (including FMEA), plus workload management and project leadership. A 4-day working week is offered and a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• HNC/D or a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3D CAD – Inventor (or similar) experience.
• GD&T proficiency required.
• Special Purpose Machinery or Industrial Equipment design experience.
• Drives / motors (desirable).
• Leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead all mechanical design of complex machinery from concept to detailed design.
• Create project specifications, timelines and risk assessments including FMEA.
• Manage workloads and take the lead on projects.
