Job summary

SPTS, a division of KLA Corporation in Newport, UK, seeks a Platform Mechanical Design Engineer to develop mechanical and thermal systems for semiconductor processes. You will design components for vacuum environments and work with cross-functional teams to meet tight deadlines in a regulated industry.

Experience in solid edge, 3D CAD, FEA tools and CNC fabrication is essential. The role offers opportunity for progression and international travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering or related field.
• 3D CAD experience with Solid Edge is essential.
• Experience in development and design environments.
• Design experience for CNC machining and fabrication is essential.
• Experience with P&ID's and CE/SEMI compliance desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design from concept to release.
• Design components for vacuum environments.
• Work in multi-disciplinary project teams for systems design.
• Pneumatic systems design.
• Obsolescence engineering.
• Produce key reports to meet regulation requirements.
• Create documentation such as Service Bulletins, Procedures and Drawings.
• Support Manufacturing, Commodity and NPL departments.
• Build and test prototypes and manage small projects.
