Are you a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in special purpose machinery looking to join a multinational engineering company offering an autonomous and technical role?

This role involves working from conception to completion on a range of specialist packaging equipment, allowing you to become a key technical expert and contribute significantly to the development of the business.

The company specializes in designing, developing, and selling special purpose manufacturing equipment worldwide. They are market leaders committed to technical excellence and are seeking an experienced engineer to join their passionate team.

You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from design to manufacturing and commissioning, in a days-based role with flexible hours to promote work-life balance.

The Role:

• Designing and developing bespoke special purpose machinery projects
• Engaging with customers, overseeing manufacturing and commissioning
• Creating parts lists, assembly, and detailed drawings
• Managing project deadlines and budgets
• Conducting risk and health & safety assessments on machinery

The Person:

• 5-10 years' experience in designing complex mechanical assemblies using 3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar)
• Knowledge of pneumatic or hydraulic systems and ability to perform engineering calculations
• Experience designing for manufacturing, preferably in packaging machinery, but transferable skills in industrial, agricultural, oil & gas, or water sectors are acceptable
• Ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior team members
• Motivated to work in an international environment with ongoing development opportunities
