Job summary

DCS Engineering in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead building services projects from concept to detailed drawings, across commercial and fit-out schemes, in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

You will design LTHW, CHW, ventilation, air conditioning and duct/pipeline layouts, create Revit models, use Hevacomp and TAS, ensure compliance with codes, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with other disciplines to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in mechanical building services design for commercial or fit-out projects.
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit and capable of producing design models.
• Experience producing calculations for LTHW, CHW, ventilation, and AC.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD alongside Revit.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects from concept to detailed drawings.
• Produce calculations for LTHW, CHW, ventilation, ductwork and pipework.
• Create design models in Revit and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Use Hevacomp and TAS for design software.
