Job summary

RSE is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Chemical and Biological Treatment division on a permanent basis. You will lead design activities from scoping through detailed design to implementation, ensuring compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards, with a strong emphasis on low‑carbon solutions.

You will work within our in‑house, multidisciplinary design team, oversee multiple projects, manage design checks, procurements, and change control, and

Qualifications

• Degree/HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary design team.
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead design activities from inception to implementation.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards.
• Develop design deliverables and perform checks/approvals.
• Arrange procurement of goods and services and prepare estimates/quotations.
• Assemble contract works information documents and manage change control.
• Liaise with key stakeholders and take Design Lead responsibility on allocated projects.
