Job summary

RSE is seeking a Design Engineer to join the in-house Design team on a permanent basis. You will lead projects from scoping through to implementation, ensuring adherence to client specs and current regulatory standards with a focus on low-carbon solutions.

You’ll work across the Water and Utility industries, taking on a fully supported lead role and liaising with clients and stakeholders to deliver detailed designs and reports on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Working knowledge of design codes and standards (British Standards and Eurocodes).
• Analyses of structures for stress and deflection using hand calculations and FEA.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering checks on structures and equipment using RFEM, Idea Statica, Nastran and Mathcad.
• Liaise with client and stakeholders across the business.
• Produce preliminary and detailed designs using 3D modelling.
• Compile engineering calculation reports to suit project requirements.
• Conduct site visits to client sites (Water treatment works, power stations, industrial sites).
• Compile design specifications and ensure QA compliance.
• Complete deliverables within project time scales.
