Job summary

Copello Global Ltd is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer in Huddersfield. The role focuses on leading design activities for complex aerospace and defence programmes, with emphasis on power transmission systems, gearboxes and heavy engineering.

You will provide technical leadership, drive continuous improvement, and ensure delivery of high-quality engineering solutions across challenging projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is desirable.
• Experience in Aerospace & Defence or similarly regulated environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and line manage a multidisciplinary mechanical team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
• Oversee transitions from simulation to design and drive non-conformance and continuous improvement.
• Apply first-principles engineering to solve complex design challenges and ensure compliance with standards.
