Role: Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer

Location: High Wycombe (Hybrid)

Job Type: Permanent

Join a high-impact engineering team solving some of the toughest design challenges in the defense sector!

They are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to support new and existing programmes, contributing to projects at every stage from initial concepts to delivery.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Developing early-stage mechanical concepts and carrying out feasibility assessments
  2. Delivering detailed design work using 3D CAD (ideally Autodesk Inventor)
  3. Collaborating with electrical and systems engineers to develop integrated solutions
  4. Contributing to best practices and continuous improvement in mechanical engineering

Requirements:

  1. Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  2. Experience designing precision enclosures or components for rugged or industrial environments
  3. Strong understanding of manufacturing methods: welding, casting, machining, and metalwork
  4. Confident user of 3D CAD software (Inventor preferred)
  5. Knowledge of material selection and performance under thermal, shock, and EMC constraints
  6. Curious mindset and eagerness to contribute to the evolution of engineering practices
