Job summary

Yoh is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a 6-month Outside IR35 contract in West Sussex with hybrid working. The role centers on ownership of mechanical components from concept to production, delivering robust, manufacturable designs for demanding environments.

You'll lead multi-disciplinary teams, develop 3D CAD models, drive design reviews, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring performance, reliability and manufacturability across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Significant experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Experience designing components for challenging operating environments.
• Knowledge of validation, testing and root-cause analysis helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies from concept through production.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings.
• Own component requirements and ensure designs meet performance and reliability targets.
• Plan and support testing and validation activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality and supply chain to deliver products.
