Job summary

Vickerstock are partnering with a successful engineering and manufacturing business in Mid County Derry to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a project-focused role. You will lead design projects from concept to manufacture, producing 3D models, drawings and technical documentation while validating designs through structural calculations using FEA/CAE tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Mechanical/Project Design Engineering.
• Experience designing equipment or machinery within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of heavy fabrication and Design for Manufacture.
• Proficient in structural, stress and strain calculations with FEA/CAE tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects from concept through detailed design and manufacture.
• Produce and review 3D designs, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Carry out engineering calculations to validate designs.
• Ensure designs are suitable for manufacture within a heavy fabrication environment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other Engineers and Designers.
• Work closely with Manufacturing and other internal departments throughout project delivery.
• Support design improvements, problem solving and new product development.
