Job summary

S1jobs in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Building Services team. You will lead the mechanical design of projects from concept to completion, delivering sustainable and technically excellent building services across multiple sectors.

Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will mentor junior engineers, manage workloads and programmes, and ensure compliance with UK regulations, BS standards, and industry best practice, while contributing to the

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Significant experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water services, and renewable technologies.
• Experience using industry-standard software such as Hevacomp, IES VE, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and MagiCAD (or equivalent).
• A sound understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance, and relevant British Standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer who enjoys delivering innovative, sustainable, and technically excellent mechanical building services designs across a diverse range of projects. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will lead the mechanical design of projects from concept through to completion, ensuring high-quality technical delivery while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
