Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for a South Bedfordshire-based role with a machinery manufacturer. You will take projects from concept through detailed design and manufacture, developing bespoke machinery and capital equipment.

You will produce 2D drawings and 3D CAD models, manage products through the full life cycle, and collaborate with manufacturing, production and project teams to deliver robust solutions and support new equipment development.

Qualifications

• Experience designing bespoke machinery for capital equipment.
• Proven ability to produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Strong practical engineering skills incl. prototyping and fault finding.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Experienced in developing bespoke machinery
• Experience in developing capital equipment, conveyors or special purpose machinery
• Experience with machining, fabrication, or other production processes
• Hands-on engineering skills, including prototyping, assembly, and fault finding
• Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
