Skilled Careers is partnering with a forward-thinking building services consultancy in Central London to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. You will lead the mechanical design on high-profile commercial and mixed-use developments, delivering sustainable HVAC solutions and ensuring compliance with UK building regulations.

The role requires a mechanical or building services engineering degree, at least five years' UK consultancy experience, and Chartered status or progression toward

• Proficiency with Hevacomp, IES, and Revit/BIM workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design process on complex commercial and mixed-use projects from concept through to detailed design.
• Produce sustainable and energy-efficient HVAC designs, ensuring compliance with UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines.
• Coordinate with electrical and public health engineers, as well as external architects and contractors.
• Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate engineers within the team.
• Attend client meetings, conduct site surveys, and manage project deliverables within set deadlines.

They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team, focusing on high–profile commercial and mixed–use developments across the capital.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical design process on complex commercial and mixed–use projects from concept through to detailed design.

• Produce sustainable and energy–efficient HVAC designs, ensuring compliance with UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines.

• Coordinate seamlessly with electrical and public health engineers, as well as external architects and contractors.

• Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate engineers within the team.

• Attend client meetings, conduct site surveys, and manage project deliverables within set deadlines.

What You Need to Succeed:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.

• A minimum of 5 years of UK–based consultancy experience, with a strong portfolio in commercial office fit–outs and mixed–use developments.

• Proficiency in Hevacomp, IES (desirable), and a solid understanding of Revit/BIM workflows.

• Chartered status (CEng) or actively working towards it.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non–technical stakeholders.
