Job summary

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is recruiting a Senior Construction Engineer in the UK to lead mechanical construction work packages across procurement, installation, testing and handover on a major nuclear programme.

You will provide technical leadership, constructability input, and ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance while coordinating with the supply chain and project teams.

Qualifications

• BTEC HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience delivering complex mechanical projects through full lifecycle (Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Handover).
• Experience with machinery, piping, HVAC and associated electrical systems.
• Strong planning, scheduling and risk management capabilities.
• Experience in highly regulated environments such as nuclear, energy or major infrastructure.
• Knowledge of UKCA/CE marking and CDM requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical construction work packages from procurement through installation, commissioning and handover.
• Provide constructability, quality, safety, risk management and installation guidance.
• Support procurement activities, supplier selection, contract management and construction planning.
• Manage supply chain partners to deliver work safely, on time, within budget and to required quality.
• Review designs and provide construction assurance to ensure compliance with project, contractual and legislative requirements.
• Prepare and review key project documentation including scopes, work specifications, estimates, schedules and safety plans.
• Monitor programme performance, manage risks and drive successful project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, UKCA/CE marking and CDM obligations.
• Support Construction Managers with leadership, coaching and guidance to project teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners while maintaining SQEP across packages.
