Job summary

MWH Treatment is seeking a Senior CAD Technician (Mechanical) to strengthen our engineering team in the UK, with hybrid working available. You will lead the production, coordination and QA of mechanical designs for major water and wastewater projects across the UK.

Working with Civil, Electrical, ICA and Process engineers, you will champion BIM and digital delivery, ensuring drawings meet CDM standards and project specifications.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in multidisciplinary design environments.
• Strong mechanical CAD background in water, utilities or infrastructure.
• Advanced 2D drafting using industry-standard CAD software.
• Strong 3D modelling and BIM standards understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design drawings and 3D models quality assurance.
• Manage CAD workloads meeting programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Act as Digital Delivery Champion, supporting BIM adoption across the business.
• Coordinate drawing production undertaken by offshore and remote resources.
• Ensure all designs comply with CDM regulations, project specs and procedures.
• Coordinate mechanical outputs with Civil, Electrical, ICA and Process disciplines.
• Support the identification and resolution of technical queries and design coordination issues.
• Produce and review high-quality mechanical layouts, piping designs and detailed drawings.
• Ensure QA, drawing standards, and document control requirements.
• Work with construction teams and supply chain to improve buildability and deliver practical solutions.
