Job summary

Haskoning Birmingham seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical building services design across industrial, commercial and international projects. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, deliver robust designs on time and within budget, and provide technical leadership.

With Chartered status and 5-10 years of experience, you will drive energy compliance, explore sustainable technologies, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with clients and partners globally.

Qualifications

• Accredited degree in mechanical/building services engineering.
• Chartered or Incorporated status preferred.
• 5–10 years’ mechanical design experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver mechanical building services packages on multiple projects.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to design engineers.
• Promote sustainable and digital design methods.
• Oversee design calculations, drawings and specifications, and quality checks.
• Coordinate with clients and international teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
