Job summary
Ensera Design is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - MCU to lead the design and delivery of MCU firmware for real-time systems across medical and consumer health sectors. You will own technical decisions and collaborate with hardware, Linux, UI, connectivity and test to deliver complete solutions.
The role offers a flexible hybrid working pattern in Bristol and the opportunity to mentor junior developers, uphold secure coding standards, and shape high-assurance firmware used in life-enhancing
Qualifications
- Proven experience with ARM Cortex-M or equivalent.
- Strong C/C++ in embedded, real-time contexts.
- Experience in quality-controlled or safety‑critical environments.
- Desirable: STM32, bootloaders, MISRA, UART/SPI/I2C/CAN.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement MCU firmware subsystems aligned to system and security architecture.
- Own technical design of MCU subsystems.
- Develop and review embedded C/C++ for real-time systems.
- Guide and support more junior developers.
- Champion coding standards and secure development.
