Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced midwife to join the senior leadership team as Ward Manager on Maternity Triage at the Wythenshawe site. You will lead a busy service, ensuring safe, effective and compassionate care for women and birthing people, while driving governance and continuous improvement.

You will work with the Matron for Intrapartum Services to promote seamless pathways, support workforce planning and contribute to the maternity debrief service and

Qualifications

• Registered midwife with current UK registration.
• Bachelor-level degree in midwifery or equivalent.
• Teaching and mentorship qualification.
• Desirable: Qualified Professional Midwifery Advocate.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible clinical and operational leadership for Maternity Triage.
• Lead a dedicated team to deliver safe, compassionate care and staff development.
• Oversee workforce management, governance, patient flow and quality improvement.
• Collaborate with the Matron for Intrapartum Services to promote seamless pathways.
• Contribute to maternity debrief service and senior midwife bleep holder rota.
