Stratasys Ltd, based in Aylesbury, UK, is seeking a Materials Scientist in our Photopolymers R&D team to drive the lifecycle of stereolithography photopolymer formulations and material properties. You will work with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial teams.

You will develop and test formulations, scale batches up to ~20 kg, perform 3D printing trials, and advance product performance and print quality while ensuring safety and COSHH compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Polymer Science or Materials Science with polymer focus
• Strong foundation in materials science, chemistry, or chemical engineering
• Knowledge of photopolymer chemistry and formulation
• Experience with analytical and mechanical testing
• Hands-on lab experience with experimental design and data analysis
• Clear written and verbal communication for technical reports
• Strong problem-solving and innovative mindset in an R&D environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently
• Collaborative, adaptable, detail-oriented with ownership of tasks

Responsabilités

• Review test results and investigate quality failures with root-cause analysis
• Investigate and validate alternative raw materials to maintain supply continuity
• Collaborate with strategic raw material suppliers and internal Procurement teams
• Investigate and resolve technical escalations from the field
• Improve existing products by enhancing material properties and print performance
• Support manufacturing validation, including test method development and execution
• Contribute to New Product Introduction projects by supporting product design quality and manufacturing transfer
• Prepare developmental formulation batches up to approximately 20 kg
• Conduct 3D printing trials and testing (viscosity, tensile, thermal)
• Develop proficiency with stereolithography printers and diagnose print defects
• Provide technical documentation for IP and FTO assessments
• Operate laboratory equipment safely and to established methods
• Present findings in project and technical reviews
• Review internal reports and relevant literature
• Maintain COSHH compliance and safe lab practices
