Job summary

Safran Seats in Cwmbran (South Wales) seeks a Senior Materials & Process Engineer to develop, implement and maintain Materials and Processes across the Engineering department, aiding design for manufacture and design for cost for Seats products. This hybrid UK role involves collaboration with Design and Manufacturing teams, and oversight of process qualification and audits.

The role covers governance of materials specifications, supporting new product development and qualification programs, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or HND/2:1 in Mechanical/Aerospace/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with light alloys and steel grades in aerospace.
• Experience with metallic qualification programs for parts, assemblies, facilities and design allowable.
• Experience specifying and monitoring metal finishing processes, including aluminium alloys.

Responsibilities

• Release of Engineering data for products, processes and equipment.
• Support design office and wider Engineering team for new product development and existing projects.
• Support qualification, equivalency and audits of special processes.
• Develop and implement Materials and Processes across Safran Seats GB products.
• Manage chemical substances related to materials and parts.
• Governance and management of tests and databases, prioritising internal capability.
• Support supply chain and audit processes related to materials and processes.
• Provide guidance for problem solving and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
