Job summary

SF Recruitment are supporting a Nottingham-based manufacturing business seeking a Senior Materials Planner to join their Procurement & Supply Chain team. This is a permanent, full-time role with hybrid working and the option to work from home one day per week.

As part of the Planning team, you will manage material planning across the UK, ensuring products are available at the right time, while maintaining stock levels and driving operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• This role requires 3-5 years' experience in materials, supply chain, or inventory control.
• Advanced knowledge of SAP is required.
• Ability to manage supplier relationships and work with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage supply vs demand to deliver strong service levels and product availability.
• Lead demand forecasting across new products and promotional activity.
• Drive continuous improvement across planning processes.
• Coach and mentor MRP Controllers to embed best practice.
• Manage stock levels and replenishment within budgets.
• Communicate stock shortages with customer service teams.
• Design and implement MRP processes, policies, and controls.
• Optimise SAP MRP, including planning parameters and master data.
• Ensure visibility of stock, orders, and in-transit materials.
• Support S&OP process with insights alongside commercial teams.
• Monitor KPIs such as OTIF, stock availability, lead times.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, procurement, manufacturing, and finance.
• Drive automation and data-led decision making across planning functions.
